One Trip Shipping Containers
New 20 ft and 40 ft Shipping Containers are often referred to as One-Trip, One-Way, or One-Use containers. These units are built overseas and used for a single cargo shipment from the manufacturer to the United States, arriving in like-new condition.
Types of Containers

Double Doors on One End of the container (New/One Trip & Used)

Double Doors on Both Ends of the container, also known as Tunnel Containers making it easy to access on both ends of the shipping container. (New/One Trip & Used)

Open Sided Containers have double doors located on one end of the container and the entire length of one side wall completely opens with additional pair of bi-fold doors. This is helpful when loading and unloading oversized materials. (New/One Trip Only)

Open Top Containers have an open-top covered by a tarp instead of a solid roof. This enables oversized cargo such as timber and scrap metal to be loaded from the top. (New/One Trip Only)

Shipping Container Uses
Container questions (FAQ)
Can I choose a specific color for my new shipping container?
Yes, new (one-trip) containers typically come in standard colors such as beige or gray depending on the manufacturer. If you're looking for a specific container color, let us know when you request a quote. We can often guarantee your color preference at the time of purchase.
Are new shipping containers certified for international use?
Yes, new one-trip shipping containers are built to ISO standards and usually come with a valid CSC (Container Safety Convention) plate, which certifies them for international shipping. If you're planning to use the container for overseas transport, please let us know so we can confirm the certification details before you buy.
What are the floors made of in new one-trip containers?
New shipping containers are equipped with marine-grade plywood floors, typically 1-1/8" thick, supported by steel cross members. This flooring is treated to resist moisture and pests, making it ideal for long-term storage or heavy-duty industrial use. Some models also feature eco-friendly bamboo composite floors with similar strength and durability.
How long do new one-trip containers last?
A new (one-trip) container can last 25 years or more when properly maintained. Made from Corten steel, these units are designed to resist corrosion and weather damage. Regular maintenance like keeping the roof clear of debris, ensuring proper ventilation, and touching up any surface scratches will help extend the lifespan especially for on-site storage applications.
Are new containers 100% dent- and scratch-free?
Not necessarily. Although new (one-trip) containers are in like-new condition, they may have minor blemishes from loading and unloading during their initial shipment. Small dents or scratches are common and do not affect performance or structure. If you require a container with minimal cosmetic wear, be sure to request photos before purchase.
How do I purchase a new shipping container?
Once you decide on the container size (e.g., 20 ft. or 40 ft. new shipping container) and whether you need delivery, we’ll email an invoice. To proceed, we’ll need your Name or Company Name, Billing and Delivery Address, Email, and container placement instructions (e.g., doors to the cab or rear of the truck). After payment, we’ll either schedule delivery or provide pickup and depot release information.
Do New Shipping Containers Come with Locks?
New one-trip containers often come with a lock box pre-installed, which provides added security by covering the padlock and protecting it from bolt cutters.
To prepare for a hassle-free delivery, consider these following points:
- Ensure you have enough space:
- 12ft Width clearance
- 16ft Height clearance- no wires or trees above
- Straight line space needed:
- 75ft – for 1 x 20ft container
- 120ft – for 1 x 40ft container or 2 x 20ft (moved together)
- Check the weather conditions
Weather conditions such as rain or snow can impact delivery. Ensure that the path and container location are dry and firm. - Solid, level ground
Containers need to be delivered on solid, level ground to ensure the doors will open and close properly. - Flat delivery site
It is important that the path leading to the delivery site is a level, flat surface as hills and slopes may cause the tilt body truck to get stuck.
