20ft. Shipping Containers:
20ft. containers are the most commonly used size. If you are looking to transport heavy cargo like machinery or raw materials, this may be the right container size for you.
40ft. Shipping Containers:
40ft. containers are, unsurprisingly, best for transporting bulkier items that may not fit into 20ft. containers, including furniture, vehicles, or large clothing shipments.
40ft. High Cube Containers:
If you need even more space than is offered by a standard 40ft. container, consider a 40ft. high cube, which offers an extra foot of vertical space compared to the 40ft. standard.
New Containers
New Containers also are often called One-Trip, One-Way, or One-Use. These containers were built overseas and made a one-way move with cargo from the manufacturer to the United States.
Types of New Containers for Sale
- Standard and High Cube Containers: Standard size containers are 8’ 6” in height and High Cube containers are 9’ 6’ in height.
- Single Door Containers: These units offer one entry point with double doors on one end of the container that can be easily secured with a separate lock on the outside. It is most popular for residential, commercial & government storage uses.
- Double Door Containers: Also known as tunnel containers, this type has doors on both ends of the container, making it easy to access items from either end of the unit. Double door containers can be an ideal solution for transporting vehicles since they can be driven in one side and out the other.
- Open Side Containers: Also known as side opening containers, the bi-fold doors located on the side of the container open just like conventional doors on the end of a shipping container. This can make it easier to load and unload items.
- Open Top Containers: True to their name, open top containers are frequently used for oversized cargo such as timber. The steel top is then replaced by a tarp so protection is still provided for the cargo during transport.

- IICL Containers (For Ocean Export): IICL Containers have strict repair standards for used containers from the Institute of International Container Lessors. IICL does not define the age of a container rather that the repairs made to the container have passed the strictest criterion out there.
- Cargo Worthy Containers (For Ocean Export): Cargo Worthy Containers are for international cargo transport under CSC criterions and include a CSC plate. Container Sales Group will hire a professional to survey the container and provide a written survey certificate per your request. Aesthetically, cargo worthy containers all have some exterior rust, dings, dents & professional welded patches, marine grade laminated plywood flooring and be ready for ocean export. The quality of the container also makes it an ideal option for people looking for as a ground-level, portable storage option or to build with.
- Water/Wind Tight Containers (For Storage): Water/Wind Tight Containers are retired from the steamship lines. These units may have exterior rust, dings, dents, or professional welded patches, but the flooring will be solid & doors operational for Water/Wind condition. All containers are inspected at the depot facility prior to pick-up or delivery. Many people use these containers for ground-level storage or for building purposes as they cannot be used for ocean export.

Shipping container prices vary depending on the size and condition you need.
Do you deliver containers?
Container Sales Group can deliver with a tilt body truck (roll off) where the container will slide off the back of the truck to place safely on the ground. For any distance of over 200 miles, we offer a flatbed delivery service, where the customer is required to have a heavy piece of equipment available to lift container off the truck at time of arrival.
What are the space requirements for delivery?
- 20 ft. containers need 50 ft. straight-line space
- 40 ft. containers need 150 ft. of straight-line space
- 16 ft. Height Clearance, and 12 ft. Width
- Or you can pick up the container at one of our local depot facilities
Do I have to prepare the site for delivery?
We can deliver directly on the ground if it is a level, solid and well drained surface. Outside of solid ground, other options include asphalt, gravel, or concrete. At time of delivery, you may consider placing railroad ties or wood blocks under each of the 4 corner posts of the container for additional support.
